Wajima Morning Market

For over 1,000 years the lively Wajima Asaichi Markets have sold locally caught fresh and dried seafood, local vegetables and produce, folk arts and traditional craft, textiles, sweets, local delicacies, souvenirs. Over 200 specialty stalls line both sides of the street from 8am to noon daily (except the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month). The Wajima Asaichi Markets on the Noto Peninsula are one of Japan’s three major morning markets alongside Gifu Prefecture’s Takayama Asaichi and the Katsuura Asaichi in Chiba Prefecture.
