Takayama Jinya
Takayama Jinya, a nationally designated historic site and an essential spot for sightseeing in Takayama. It was a government office established by the Edo Shogunate to directly govern Hida Province, and it is the only surviving district magistrate and deputy governor's office in Japan with its main buildings intact. Since the residential space is also within the Jinya, you can catch a glimpse of life during the Edo period.
