Wakutamaike Pond
Wakutamaike Pond is located in the precincts of the Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha, a shrine dedicated to Mt. Fuji and part of the Mt. Fuji World Heritage site. The pond is fed by rain and snow that falls on Mt. Fuji and is soaked into the ground, creating the Fuji underground springs. Since ancient times, mountain ascetics have purified themselves in Wakutama Pond before climbing Mt. Fuji.
