Shiraito Falls

Hundreds of large and small waterfalls cascade down a 20m high, 150m wide curved cliff. Known as Shiraito, or White Thread Falls because of its appearance, the spring water fed falls with a 12°C temperature flows year-round. It is said that Hasegawa Kakugyo, founder of Fuji-ko asceticism, a Buddhist order that worships Mt. Fuji, made it a place of pilgrimage and asceticism for his followers.
