Suzu Ware Pottery Hands-on Experience

Suzu ware pottery was produced in Suzu County from the late 12th century to the end of 15th century, one of the potteries representative of medieval Japan. Derived from Sue ware, the pottery is fired with a smoke firing technique, resulting in its distinct shade of dark gray.

Experience content Use a manual potter's wheel to throw by hand. Using 1 kg of clay per person, you can make two to three small works, or a single large work. Knead the clay and discover the unique fondness for works that you make yourself.
