A variety of creative programs for children with a focus on clay

Seto City is a town known for “setomono” pottery, and has a history of about a thousand years of ceramic ware production. The city was recognized as Japan Heritage in April 2017 as a production site of authentic Japanese pottery. You can enjoy the unique charms of this pottery production town, including the geometrical design of the “kamagaki,” walls made of kiln furniture.
You can get in touch with the unique culture and history of this town, known for its “setomono” ceramics, through a hands-on experience painting a Maneki-neko (beckoning cat statue), or through a facility where children can play with pottery, clay, and more.
