Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre, Shizuoka
Since Mt. Fuji’s inclusion as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013 as an object of faith and source of art, this base facility is dedicated to preserving and passing on the mountain to future generations. The museum has six permanent exhibitions themed: “Ascending Fuji”, “The Fierce Mountain”, “The Sacred Mountain”, “The Beautiful Mountain”, “The Nurturing Mountain” and “The Inherited Mountain”. The observation hall allows visitors unobstructed views of the magnificent Mt. Fuji, particularly beautiful in winter and spring when the mountain is capped with pure white snow.
