Kenrokuen Garden

Adjacent to Kanazawa Castle Park in Ishikawa Prefecture, is the iconic Kenrokuen, one of Japan’s three most famous gardens, along with the Kairakuen of Ibaraki and Korakuen in Okayama Prefecture. Kanazawa’s Kenrokuen Garden is designated a National Special Place of Scenic Beauty (the equivalent of National Treasure of gardens). The Kenrokuen Gardens were developed over time by Kaga Domain’s successive feudal lords. The sprawling tree lined garden is dotted with landscaped hills, ponds, and teahouses. Enjoy walking through the rich beauty of nature and the landscape that changes throughout the four seasons.
