Hikone Castle
Hikone Castle, the residence of the Ii family who played an active role as Tokugawa generals in the Battle of Sekigahara and became the lords of Hikone Domain. The castle, which includes a national treasure main keep, has four turrets and a stable unique to Hikone Castle among all castles in Japan, all designated as important cultural properties, making it a castle worth seeing.
