Commanding a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji or Sagami Bay, Nihondaira creates the pleasant scenery with plum gardens, cherry tree-lined streets, tea farms and tangerine orchards. How about tea-picking while enjoying the charming scenery of Nihondaira? It is selected as one of best one hundred tourist spots in Japan, a place of scenic beauty or designated as a Prefectural Nature Park. At Nihondaira Ochakaikan, tea-picking is available from April through October every year. At the extensive tea field where eight varieties of tea trees are grown, so visitors can try tea-picking and take them home freely. A hands-on experience of hand-rolled tea making or the complimentary service of tea leaves tempura is also available if the number of passengers meets the minimum passenger count. Inside the store, you can buy tea leaves by packing them in a container as much as you like.
