This museum was founded in a joint creation of TOYOTA group companies in 1994 and the original red brick building which remained in the birthplace mill of the group has been preserved as ‘an industrial heritage for modernization’. The museum consists of the textile machinery pavilion, the automotive pavilion, Technoland and the steam engine, etc. Centering on textile machines and automobiles, the production engineering and technical transition are introduced. As unique features to this museum, various demonstrations are shown by operators and such ‘exhibits in motion’ as the authentic machines can be operated by pushing buttons. At the Technoland for kids, mechanism of machinery can be learned while having a fun. In addition, the demonstration corner of various metal processing technologies or a hands-on corner for making rubber band driven mini-car making are available. At this museum, ‘making things’ of TOYOTA can be fully enjoyed.
