This is the plum-grove garden well-known both for Japan’s earliest blooming plum blossoms and a late autumn color spot, and especially popular among tourists from Taiwan as the “Park of the National Anthem”. The garden was open in 1886 and plum trees with 58 varieties, 464 trees, including some old trees over 100 years old, have beautiful blossoms.From the middle of January to the middle of March, which is the blooming time of plum blossoms, ‘Atami Plum-Grove Garden’ Plum Blossom Festival’ is being held. A variety of events, centering on Sundays and national holidays are organized such as Geisha entertainment performance, a popular song show and complimentary sweet sake service. Inside the garden, there are‘plum viewing waterfall’, ‘Sawada Masaihro Commemorative Art Gallery’ and ‘Korean Garden’. You can enjoy the garden all year round.
