Ise Pilgrimage Route

Ise Pilgrimage Route

The Shoryudo truly offers a diverse array of tourist attractions.

Ise-jingu Shrine — where the spirit of Japan lives, and a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage destination for people of the early modern period.
Five million people from around Japan have visited Ise on foot. The Ise Pilgrimage Route is a modern route that crosses the Ise Bay by boat. In areas near the route, people learn the culture of female divers, conduct pearl oyster farming, harvest fish and shellfish, and cultivate tea and a variety of fruit and flowers amidst the temperate climate.
Experience the food and cultures that benefit from the resource-rich ocean and temperate climate. The G7 2016 Ise-Shima Summit will take place on an island surrounded by this bountiful ocean.
Visitors can also enjoy seeing the birthplace of ninjas and the comic book character Chibi Maruko-chan.
